African Jade is forest green in color with beautiful "marbling" in faint patterns of lighter greens. African Jade is not really jade, but a form of garnet strongly resemling jade that is mined in Southern Africa. It was often mistaken for jade in the ancient oriental jade market.

Jade is known as the stone of wisdom. In ancient times, it was considered a sacred stone and was worn to attract good fortune. African Jade is also said to enhance expressiveness, intelligence and preception.
